No-code, no problem ?

👋 Hello everyone and welcome to our new subscribers,

We're delighted to welcome you to the eleventh edition of the SmartMyData newsletter. We look forward to seeing you every 15 days to keep you up to date with the latest news from the world of automation and RPA.

This week, the spotlight is on no-code. Happy reading!

📰 SmartMyData news

At SmartMyData, we use a mix of no-code and low-code to create automation scenarios. We retrieve and sort your information into different columns using a single line of code. Here's an example of a low-code scenario at SmartMyData, where we retrieve and classify your information in different columns using a single line of code :

🌎 What is no-code?

No-code is the ability to build a computer application without having to write code. From a software platform often based on a "drag and drop" model: in other words, a series of graphical elements are at your disposal, and all you have to do is drag and drop them to form your workflow. You might think that no technical knowledge is necessary when using a tool like this - but that's not always the case. Find out why in our article right here 👇

❤️ No-code and low code: what are the limits?

The article discusses no-code and its advantages, but do you know what the constraints are?

With these tools, we tend to relinquish much of our control to third-party services, which can pose a security risk. Indeed, to guarantee the security and compliance of your data, pay close attention to the location of data hosting infrastructures (especially if they are located abroad). In this way, you'll avoid any RGPD violations with personal data transfers outside the European Union.

At SmartMyData, the governance and control of your data has always seemed paramount to us. That's why our processing and collection modules are specific to our platform (form creation, worflow...) so that you remain in control of your data. The platform can be installed on any hosting provider, including sovereign cloud solutions (hi
@clevercloud).

Low-code or no-code: conditional freedom

🤔
Towards the disappearance of developers?

There is often confusion between no-code and traditional development, leading to the belief that no-code is taking over, thereby jeopardizing the developer's profession. It's important to remember that these two types of development can, above all, be complementary, and that there's even a middle ground, as low-code demonstrates. The use of a developer's technical skills remains indispensable for the development of complex projects. No-code may appear to be a miracle solution, allowing you to do away with the need for a developer, but you could quickly find yourself limited to simple projects with little added value and/or that cannot be maintained over time.

No, no code does not mean the death of the developer

📣 The quote to slip into a no-code dinner party

We end this newsletter with a quote from Sahil Lavingia, Managing Director of Gumroad.

"No code isn't just about helping non-coders build elements. It's also about helping coders build elements. Some of our best designers are incredibly skilled engineers who don't want to deal with payments, fraud, VAT and the other burdens that come with selling products online."

Sahil Lavingia, General Manager of Gumroad
